Ellen Policinski is currently a legal adviser working on the ICRC’s project to update the Commentaries on the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols. She has worked at the ICRC since 2014 in a variety of positions, including as Managing Editor of the International Review of the Red Cross. Prior to joining the ICRC, she worked on promoting IHL and other legal protections for people living through armed conflict at organizations including the American Red Cross and the Center for Civilians in Conflict. She has an LL.M. from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, and a J.D. from the University of Villanova Law School.
