Intercross: The Podcast Closes, The Conversation Continues
We’re saying good-bye to almost a decade of this podcast.
The ICRC was established in 1863 and operates worldwide, helping people affected by conflict and armed violence and promoting the laws that protect victims of war. An independent and neutral organization, its mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We are headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and employ over 20,000 people in more than 100 countries. The ICRC is funded mainly by voluntary donations from governments and from National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. For more information, please visit icrc.org
The ICRC opened its Regional Delegation to the US and Canada in Washington, D.C. in 1995. A staff of about 50 members representing a variety of nationalities work with the US and Canadian authorities, multilateral institutions, civil society groups, the American Red Cross, and the Canadian Red Cross to heighten awareness of and respect for International Humanitarian Law and the humanitarian work of the ICRC. To learn more about how the ICRC works with these groups please visit: icrc.org.
