Du 16 mars au 12 juin 2023, le Comité international de la Croix-Rouge (CICR) invite tout photojournaliste professionnel à participer au Visa d’or humanitaire du CICR.

Thème de cette 13ème édition : « la tragédie des populations déplacées, réfugiées ou exilées en lien avec un conflit armé, une catastrophe ou la migration ».

Ce prix s’intègre dans le prestigieux festival international de photojournalisme : Visa pour l’image, qui se tient chaque année à Perpignan (dans le sud de la France) depuis 1989. Le lauréat recevra dans ce cadre, le prix doté de 8 000 euros, une aide pour financer de futurs projets photographiques.

Le Visa d’or humanitaire du CICR entend répondre à un double objectif, à savoir, valoriser le travail que réalise chaque jour les photojournalistes sur le terrain, mais aussi et avant tout, alerter le plus grand nombre de personnes sur le non-respect du droit international humanitaire.

L’an passé, le jury a récompensé le jeune photographe d’origine syrienne, Sameer al Doumy pour son remarquable travail sur les migrants tentant de rejoindre l’Angleterre depuis Calais (France).

Call for participation for the 2023 Humanitarian Visa d’Or Award

From 16 March to 12 June 2023, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is inviting all professional photojournalists to take part in its photojournalism contest, the ICRC Humanitarian Visa d’or award.

For its 13th edition, the theme is ‘the tragedy of displaced populations, refugees or exiles in connection with an armed conflict, disaster (climate change for example) or migration’.

This award is part of the prestigious international photojournalism festival: Visa pour l’image, which is held every year in Perpignan (France). The winner will receive there the award: 8,000 euros to help finance future photographic projects.

Through this price, the ICRC has two objectives: to highlight the work that photojournalists do every day in the field, but also and above all, to alert as many people as possible to the lack of respect for international humanitarian law around the world.

Last year, the jury rewarded the young Syrian photographer, Sameer-al-Doumy for his remarkable work on migrants trying to reach England from Calais in France.
