When we arrived at the Swiss National Film Archive, Jean-Blaise Junod, director and film restorer, Jean-François Pitteloud, ICRC deputy archivist, and I could not hide our excitement.
A few months earlier, while checking inventory lists sent by the National Film Archive, the institution where the ICRC’s 35 and 16 mm film collections are kept, my attention had been drawn to five previously unknown titles. Among them, a certain Geneva August 1923: Pine Tree Walk, Gustave Ador: Rath Museum (ICRC Switzerland 1923) immediately aroused my interest, an interest shared by Jean-Blaise Junod as soon as he learned of the fortuitous “reappearance” of this document.
