Erik Tollefsen
Erik Tollefsen is Head of the Weapon Contamination Unit at the International Committee of the Red Cross. He has more than 30 years of operational and technical experience in weapon systems, explosive ordnance disposal, counter-IED, detection and sensor technologies, and ballistic protection. Before joining the ICRC, he worked with the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining and Norwegian People’s Aid, supporting operations in a wide range of conflict-affected settings. A former Ammunition Technical Officer in the Norwegian Defence Forces, he has served in UN peace operations and advised national authorities and security actors on weapons safety and explosive hazard mitigation.
