Claude Maon
Claude Maon is the Legal Director of the Intersectional Legal Department at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), a role she has held since 2022. She specializes in international humanitarian law, international criminal law and protection.
Before joining MSF, she worked as an attorney at the Brussels Bar. She also worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Avocats Sans Frontières (ASF), focusing on access to justice and the fight against impunity in several African countries.
She also worked at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva as a protection officer and supported field missions worldwide.
She undertook numerous consultancies and project management roles in the area of justice support and the fight against impunity, both for the UN system and non-governmental organizations.
Claude Maon holds a Master’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in International Humanitarian Aid (NOHA) from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium). She also holds a certificate in Criminalistics Science and Medico-Legal Psychiatry from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
She is a member of the Board of Avocats Sans Frontières.
