Saman Rejali works at the ICRC, where she carries out thematic work on gender as well as digital technologies and war. She is a Thematic Editor at the International Review of the Red Cross, and is also the Co-Founder and lead for the ICRC’s Gender, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, an informal network of staff and Associates, based in the field and headquarters, collaborating to create initiatives, events and processes to bridge the equity gaps in the organization. Prior to joining the ICRC, she worked for Kofi Annan and his team at the Kofi Annan Foundation, where she was trained in speechwriting, policy analysis and programmes work. Given her interest in fostering gender equity through international law and policy, Saman has worked at the United Nations Population Fund and several Geneva-based organizations where she produced legal and policy reports with a focus on gender equity barriers and sexual and reproductive health rights. She holds an M.A. from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto.
