Noëlle van der Waag-Cowling
Noëlle Van der Waag-Cowling is the Cyber Programme Lead at the Security Institute for Governance and Leadership (SIGLA), Stellenbosch University. Her work cuts across both the public and private sectors and has a strong focus on governance, policy and geo-strategic issues in information security. She teaches cyber warfare and low intensity conflict in the Department of Strategic Studies and serves on the review board of the International Journal of Cyber Warfare and Terrorism.
Noëlle is a member of the Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa and is passionate about digital innovation and building cyber capacity on the Continent. Noëlle is also an affiliate member of the University of Canberra’s National Security Hub and co-chair of the Strategy and Research Working Group for the Carnegie Endowment’s FinCyber Project on ‘Financial Inclusion and Cybersecurity.’
