Maria Haas
Maria Haas is a Researcher on data protection in humanitarian action at the European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity (ECPC) at Maastricht University. She previously worked as an Associate at the Data Protection Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where she contributed to internal policy development and supported outreach on responsible data use across the humanitarian sector. Prior to that, she worked as a legal advisor and analyst across the public and private sectors, with a focus on digitalisation, AI, and cybersecurity. Maria holds an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge, where she graduated first in her class, as well as bachelor’s degrees in law (LL.B.) and politics, law and economics (PLE) from IE University in Madrid.
