Isabelle Gallino

Isabelle Gallino is currently a Prevention Adviser at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), focusing on strategies to prevent violations of international humanitarian law. Since joining the ICRC, she has held various roles, including in the Legal Division at Headquarters, as a Delegate and Head of Office in Colombia, and as a Legal Coordinator in Myanmar. Prior to her time at the ICRC, Isabelle worked as a lawyer representing non-accompanied minors, and as a Project Coordinator with various human rights NGOs in Switzerland and Ethiopia.
Isabelle holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Law from the University of Zurich, as well as an LLM from the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, where she published research on the factors motivating non-State armed groups to comply with IHL. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Helsinki.
