Grete Herlofson
Grete Herlofson assumed the position of Secretary General of the Norwegian Red Cross in October 2025. She is the former Secretary General of the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue and has a broad background in the non-profit and humanitarian sectors. Herlofson served as Secretary General of the Norwegian Women’s Public Health Association for more than seven years, and prior to 2014 she held the position of Director of a department within the Norwegian Red Cross.
She holds an academic background from BI Norwegian Business School and the Norwegian Defence University College’s Executive Program, and has extensive experience in leadership and organizational development. Grete Herlofson is a sought-after speaker and maintains an extensive network within humanitarian and non-profit organizations.
