Fatima Alkali
Fatima Alkali is a Nigerian lawyer and educator with 19 years of experience in teaching. She has taught diverse aspects of law in three universities in Nigeria and has been teaching international humanitarian law (IHL) since 2012. She has been a resource person for IHL workshops organized by the ICRC for IHL teachers in Nigeria since 2006. She served as Legal Counsel in a Presidential Panel set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria to investigate members of the Armed Forces for human rights abuses (2017-2018). She also established an IHL Training Club for the students of University of Abuja (where she had worked from 2001-2017) in 2008, which has featured many IHL presentations by the students. She recently facilitated the establishment of an IHL Club for law students of Nile University of Nigeria (NUN), where she currently works as Associate Professor and Deputy Dean of the Law Faculty.
