Charlotte Tocchio
Ms. Charlotte Tocchio joined the IFRC Secretariat in Geneva in November 2008 and is currently in charge of ensuring global strategic visioning, direction and coordination of its work in the area of education. She has over 16 years’ experience in programme management, global network coordination as well as skills- and values-based education for peace. Her expertise is in peer-to-peer and experiential, holistic learning approaches for behavioural change and in themes related to a culture of peace as well as humanitarian principles and values (e.g., non-discrimination and respect for diversity, gender equality, social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, violence prevention). Prior to joining the IFRC, she worked with Médecins du Monde in Argentina and volunteered for a number of civil society organizations. A French national, she holds a Master of Advanced Studies in pedagogical approaches for education in humanitarian principles and values as well as a master’s degree in sciences of management from Kedge Business School. [She was awarded the UN Global Compact Label for her specialization in NGOs’ management and good governance, sustainable development, fair trade and corporate social responsibility.]
