Charles Deutscher
Charles Deutscher is a Policy Adviser in the ICRC’s Policy & Humanitarian Diplomacy Division, which supports the ICRC’s humanitarian mission through policy and diplomatic engagement. Charles joined the Division following a number of field missions with the ICRC and the UN in Myanmar, Afghanistan, Uganda, South Sudan, and Senegal. Prior to that, he coordinated a project on the impact of counter-terrorism measures on humanitarian action for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Geneva, and practiced as a commercial lawyer in Sydney, Australia.
Charles holds a Master of Public Policy from Oxford University, and Bachelors of Laws (Hons.) and Arts (International Relations) from the Australian National University.
