Kathleen Lawand is head of the ICRC’s Arms Unit. She previously served as head of its Legal Advisers to the Operations. She joined the ICRC in 2000, and was posted to India, West Africa, Iraq support, and Afghanistan.  Prior to joining the ICRC, she worked in the areas of disarmament, international criminal law and refugee law. She is a member of the Québec Bar and holds a Masters degree in public international law from the London School of Economics.
