Julia Joerin
Julia Joerin served as a Child Protection Adviser with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) from 2021 to early 2026. In this role, she provided technical support to ICRC delegations and advanced the organisation’s policy positioning on children affected by armed conflict, including those impacted by counterterrorism measures. Previously, Julia conducted several ICRC field assignments as an Arabic-speaker in the Middle East and Africa, in protection and management roles.
During a break from the ICRC, Julia worked as an editor and researcher with media, state institutions and civil society organisations in Germany and Switzerland. She holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva.
