Ansha Krishnan
Ansha Krishnan is currently a Protection Delegate at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Colombia, where she works to protect and assist people affected by armed conflict.
She previously served as a Legal Adviser in the ICRC’s Regional Delegation in the Pacific, where she advised national authorities on the adoption and implementation of international humanitarian law (IHL) and provided legal support for the ICRC’s activities in the region. Since joining the ICRC in 2022, Ansha has developed expertise in IHL matters concerning sanctions, disarmament, maritime operations, and new and emerging technologies.
Prior to her work at the ICRC, Ansha practiced as a criminal lawyer in Australia, representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in regional Australia. Her previous positions involve assisting conflict-affected communities in Northern Uganda and advising on discrete legal issues in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court.
Ansha holds a Master of Public International Law with a specialization in Human Rights from Utrecht University, and a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Journalism from Bond University. She is admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria.
