An inaugural ceremony was held on Sunday, 6 September 2020, celebrating the opening of the new office for Society for Recovery and Support (SRS), which was made possible by the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
This new facility greatly expands the capabilities for delivering better and more diverse support to a higher number of beneficiaries in Golshahr district in Mashhad.
This gathering was an opportunity for all guests and attendees to see and appreciate the diverse activities that this center offers to the vulnerable beneficiaries in Golshahr.
Representatives from organizations such as the Bureau of Alliance and Foreign Immigrants Affairs (BAFIA), Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Relief International, Social Welfare Organization and the Society for Recovery Support attended the ceremony.
Amongst the guests were also a number of local donors such as the head of Hazrat-e Zeinab polyclinic and the pharmacy with which project works closely.
Also, some of the beneficiaries who had been empowered through the services offered by this center were present at the ceremony.
While visiting all the departments in the center, the guests were welcomed and briefed on the activities of each section by the concerned staff. Then the ceremony, which was hosted by an Afghan woman and a former beneficiary of the SRS commenced.
Following the opening remarks, a clip depicting the history and activities of the SRS was shown, which received positive feedbacks. Subsequently, speeches were made by Daniel Munoz-Rojas, Head of Operations in ICRC Iran Office, Mr. Ghaffari, CEO of SRS and Mr. Hashemi, the head of BAFIA in Mashhad. These speakers, while expressing gratitude for the activities carried out so far, discussed future plans and obstacles while emphasizing the importance of further cooperation between IRCS, SRS, and ICRC.
Furthermore, all other organizations and authorities were invited to provide assistance in order to ensure the facilitation of the execution of this tripartite project.
