Around one million people have sought refuge in Maiduguri after fleeing on-going violence in the northeast of Nigeria. Almost everyone has lost everything when they had to run away to save their lives.

The ICRC provides medical supplies and surgical training to the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri to help treat illnesses and wounds inflicted by bomb blasts and gunshots
