Natalie Deffenbaugh
Now working in donor relations, Natalie Deffenbaugh was Protection Policy Adviser at the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) from 2021 to 2023.
Since joining the ICRC in 2009, she held a variety of protection-focused positions in India, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Liberia, and the ICRC’s Regional Delegation for the Pacific. In 2016 she was appointed Adviser in the Unit for Persons Deprived of Liberty before serving as interim National Information Bureau Manager in the Central Tracing Agency in 2021.
Previously, Natalie worked for four years in Africa and the Middle East with the International Rescue Committee, including in protection. She holds a Master of Arts in Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Princeton University.
