Louis G. Maresca
Lou Maresca is an adviser in the Weapons Contamination Unit of ICRC’s Assistance Division. He joined the ICRC in 1995 and since then has worked on the legal, policy and operational aspects of the ICRC’s and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement’s response to landmines, cluster munitions and explosive remnants of war. His main areas of work currently focus on supporting the ICRC’s weapon contamination programs in the field, coordinating and developing ICRC contributions to the International Mine Action Standards and working with ICRC delegations and National Red Cross Societies on risk awareness and safer behavior.
