In today’s world of social media, fake news and AI, it has become extremely difficult to double-check and verify. Despite the exceptional odds, despite the mental stress, several journalists and photographers are coming up with exceptional work. And that is something we would love to recognize.”
Speaking on the occasion, Kedir Awol Omar, Head of the Regional Delegation for India, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives, thanked the journalists for their unwavering commitment to spotlighting humanity’s challenges. “We thank every journalist present at ground zero for their unwavering commitment to putting the spotlight on humanity’s challenges. Your media stories certainly develop an awareness of humanitarian concerns, enabling timely responses to humanitarian needs on the ground,” he said.
