For the first time in India, an all-encompassing training program for disability sports technical officers was held from September 4-9 in Chennai – with some participants coming from as far as J&K and Nepal. As part of this, separate courses for Classifiers, Coaches and Referees for wheelchair basketball were organized by the Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) New Delhi Delegation.
The ICRC New Delhi Blog spent a lot of time with the participants as well as players to know what brings them together to be a part of this sport and play with such passion. This photostory marks the beginning of a series as we bring you stories of challenges, determination, learning as well as self-discovery. (©ICRC, A Bhatia)
