The International Committee of the Red Cross, regional delegation for India, Bhutan and the Maldives, is pleased to announce five short term (two months) Henry Dunant Research Fellowships  2014 in the field of international humanitarian law (IHL).

Eligibility:

  1. Students from South Asian countries enrolled in an Indian university pursuing masters, M.Phil or doctoral studies in law, international relations, political science, sociology, peace and conflict studies, human rights and defence studies are eligible to apply
  2. Applicant must be below the age of 35 years as of 31 December 2014
  3. Applicant must possess excellent command over written English and must have demonstrable research skills

Fellowship amount:

The Fellowship consists of a one-time grant of  Rs.8,000/- (eight thousand Indian rupees only)

Time frame:

  1. Successful applicants will have two months to submit completed research papers

Application procedure:

  1. The applicant must submit a detailed research proposal, a curriculum vitae and a letter of motivation (a maximum of 750 words) while applying for this Fellowship
  2. Applicant must also submit a writing sample such as a copy of an article or paper published/presented with the application form

The deadline for submission of applications is 25 August 2014
