The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Regional Delegation, New Delhi is pleased to announce the 2015 edition of the Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition (National Rounds) on International Humanitarian Law, in collaboration with the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), from 17-20 September in New Delhi.

The 15th Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition aims to promote awareness and understanding of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) among law students and law faculties in India. This Moot Court competition has over the years been providing opportunities for law students to interact with theorists, practitioners and to become acquainted with the practical application and enforcement of this important area of law.

Participation in the competition involves thorough research and detailed study of IHL treaties, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their additional protocols, and the rules of customary law applicable to this area.

All law colleges/universities/institutions are invited to participate in the competition by sending a team comprising three students and a coach/teacher. The competition is open to all students pursuing undergraduate or masters degree in law from a recognized university/institution in India.

The Moot problem and Rules can be downloaded from the ISIL website. The Registration Form is to be sent by post (to ISIL) or by email (info.isil@gmail.com) as soon as possible. Memorials and counter memorial must be submitted on or before 15 September, 2015.
