Sylvain Vité supervises the delegation’s legal work, including on international humanitarian law (IHL). Mr. Vité has held various legal and operational positions both at the ICRC’s headquarters in Geneva and in other countries, including Myanmar and Colombia. He has also published cornerstone research on IHL and international human rights law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Geneva, a master’s degree in international relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, a Master of Laws from American University’s Washington College of Law, and a PhD in International Law from the University of Geneva.
