Austin Shangraw has been with the ICRC for nearly a decade, working in both the Legal and Policy Departments since he joined the Washington delegation. He focuses primarily on legal and policy issues related to the intersection of sanctions, counterterrorism measures, and export controls with humanitarian action; detention; privileges and immunities; and data protection. Mr. Shangraw received his J.D. and M.A. from American University and completed his undergraduate studies at Occidental College. He is conversational in Spanish.
