Personnel du Croissant-Rouge somalien portant assistance suite aux inondations. Personel of Somali Red Crescent assisting people after floods. Access to the flood affected population was very difficult, as many roads and bridges were impassable or had been washed away. Delivering assistance by air or boat was often the only option. Sometimes, the SRCS volunteers and ICRC field workers had to walk to isolated flooded villages. The ICRC has airlifted eight motorboats to the affected regions and hired four others locally. ICRC cargo planes were making daily flights between Nairobi and the flooded areas in Somalia.
