The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Colombo and the Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute of Sri Lanka (BIDTI) have been co-organizing a series of webinars on contemporary challenges to International Humanitarian Law (IHL) in light of the 2019 ICRC Challenges Report.

The third webinar in this series titled “Counter terrorism measures and International Humanitarian Law” will explore the challenges posed by counter terrorism measures in the context of armed conflicts to the implementation of International Humanitarian Law.  The speakers will contribute to the discussion from the wealth of their experience and knowledge on the role of IHL in counterterrorism measures with regard to initiatives in domestic settings and multilateral fora.

The event is scheduled for 8th April 2021 from 2.30pm to 4.00pm, Sri Lanka time.
