Kaboul, centre orthopédique du CICR. Cours spéciaux pour enfants paraplégiques. Kabul, ICRC orthopaedic centre. Special class for paraplegic children. Special classes for children who cannot attend schools because of their disability are organised in several class rooms at the orthopaedic centre in Kabul. These are mostly children in wheelchairs who are unable to enter school buildings, which are not equipped for disabled. Teachers are hired by the ICRC to teach in those special classes. More than 2,100 children have benefited of such a support. In addition, children who cannot leave their homes because of too heavy disability receive home classes. 242 children were receiving such classes in September 2006.
