Families of missing people have specific needs.
They need psychosocial support as well as help with livelihood, health, education, legal and administrative matters.
In 2015, the ICRC started a comprehensive support programme called the Accompaniment Programme, in Sri Lanka, to help families overcome these needs. They are now coping better with their daily lives.
