World Red Cross Day is observed on May 8 every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross. In keeping with the theme for this year — which is “Less Known Red Cross Stories” — the Indian Red Cross Society, the ICRC and the IFRC, are organizing online essay and photography competitions. These are open to all. The entries will be judged by a panel of judges and three winners from each category will be felicitated.

Declaration of results: 1 May, 2017

Following may also be noted by the contestants:

  1. Only top three entries shall receive prize/certificate
  2. There is no entry fee
  3. Employees and family members of the Red Cross Staff are not eligible to participate
  4. Language: English
  5. All entries shall become Red Cross property
  6. Only one entry per contestant is permitted
  7. Decision of the jury shall be final
