The ICRC and the Press Institute of India (PII) are back with this year’s much-awaited Annual Awards for Best Article and Photograph on a Humanitarian Subject. The theme for the 2016 edition of the awards is ‘Reporting on the Fate of Victims of Natural/Man-Made Disasters’.

The awards are presented annually to recognize and promote the outstanding work of Indian journalists in the field of humanitarian reporting. It places the spotlight on human suffering caused by disasters and situations of violence, and highlights the extraordinary resilience shown by people in such times.

The results will be announced in November 2016.
