Puntland State University (PSU) will represent Somalia at the IHL All-Africa Competition this November after winning the national round in Mogadishu. They secured their spot by defeating Mogadishu University in a tense contest that tested their mastery of international humanitarian law (IHL), also known as the law of armed conflict.
This victory marks their debut at the continental stage, claiming the title from last year’s winners, Mogadishu university.
The competition showcased the passion of the next generation of Somali lawyers, with defense and prosecution teams making compelling arguments in a mock courtroom case. It underscores the growing interest in IHL among Somali universities and celebrated young legal talent.
