We are pleased to be able to share the digital version of the Bangla translation of the important reference work “Introduction to International Humanitarian Law in the Light of Islam” (“Muqadima fi ‘l-qanun ad-duwali al-insani fi ‘l-islam”). This publication explores relevant issues such as how to deal with victims of armed conflict in accordance with Islamic Shariah, looks at lessons learnt from the early Islamic battles like Badr, and lays out what Islamic law says about the treatment of prisoners of war, women, children, dead bodies and the protection of property.
The book was originally authored in Arabic by Dr. Zaid bin Abd al-Karim Al-Zaid, professor of Comparative Jurisprudence at Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh and the Director of the High Institute of Justice. The translation into Bangla has been conducted in close collaboration with the Faculty of Shari’ah and Islamic Studies of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC).
