We are pleased to be able to share with you the digital version of “Respect for the Dead from the Perspective of IHL and Islam”, a publication authored by the Bangladeshi scholars Mohammad Azharul Islam and Maulana Obaid Ullah Hamzah, which is available in both Bangla and English language versions.

Dignified burials of the dead in the context of armed conflicts and natural disasters is a challenge that demands great rigour as well as care. This publication explores relevant rules and provisions of IHL, Qur’anic verses and Prophetic teachings related to human dignity, respect for the dead and humanitarian principles.
