The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is suspending its activities in Jerusalem on Sunday the 7th of August after its offices were stormed by a group of protesters.
On Wednesday evening, a group of protesters forced their way into the Jerusalem offices endangering the safety of ICRC staff present and hindering the performance of their work.
“This breach of our premises is unacceptable, therefore, we have decided to suspend our activities and close the office on the 7th of August until we receive the necessary assurances that we are able to work in safe conditions” said Agatha Stricker, ICRC’s deputy head of mission in Jerusalem.
This suspension will not affect our offices in the West Bank.
