We are continuing all our efforts on behalf of hunger striking Palestinian prisoners and assure the families of prisoners that our priority remains the welfare and full respect of the integrity and dignity of all detainees, including the hunger strikers. ICRC is carrying out regular visits, with delegates and doctors, to all strikers, with individual attention to those on prolonged strike. We also pursue a confidential dialogue with the Israeli authorities on the conditions and treatment of prisoners, and on administrative detention procedures. In this video interview, two of our staff working directly with hunger striking Palestinian prisoners describe how we work during a hunger strike. They explain ICRC’s role, and some of the ethical questions we address. They also explain our visits to the families of the hunger strikers to exchange news of their loved ones.
