Monowara Sarker has spent the last 44 years helping people find missing family members when they become separated during disaster, conflict and other situations of violence or as a result of migration.

In 2015, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement recognised this lifetime commitment by awarding her the Henry Dunant Medal, the Movement’s highest accolade. Ms Sarker is head of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Tracing Services.
