Promoting respect for IHL is a key part of the ICRC’s work. The ICRC organizes an annual regional conference in South Asia to discuss and analyse new dimensions and emerging issues with respect to IHL. The theme of this year’s conference “IHL: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” encompassed several sub topics including ‘IHL, Armed Conflict and Terrorism’; ‘IHL and Implications for Peacekeeping Operations’; ‘Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons’, among others.
