Today, the humanitarian environment is becoming increasingly dynamic – marked by unprecedented levels of violence against civilians – in a world that is also becoming more complex. In this conversation with the ICRC New Delhi Blog, eminent columnist, author and former Information Advisor to the Prime Minister of India, Prem Shankar Jha illustrates the challenges faced by humanitarian aid agencies and humanitarian workers across the world. Jha highlights the remarkable contribution India can make, particularly in Africa, over the next 10 years on account of its two major assets – a stable stock of abundant foodgrains and cheap pharmaceutical drugs.

The tête-à-tête took place on the sidelines of the recently-held 4th Humanitarian Tiffin Talk.
