The Humanitarian Law & Policy blog is a unique platform bringing together analysis, debate and commentary on international humanitarian law (IHL), the policies that shape humanitarian action and the interplay between these areas. It is a place to discuss the law, identify trends, consider future challenges and explore solutions as they pertain to IHL or humanitarian action. We bring together informed academics, practitioners and other interested parties to engage in serious, open-minded discussion. Inter-disciplinary posts and multimedia content that inform IHL and humanitarian action are encouraged. The blog and the International Review of the Red Cross complement one another in featuring ongoing debates.
The ICRC hosts Humanitarian Law & Policy with a view to stimulating these ideas and debates. Please note, however, that the blog may not be interpreted as positioning the ICRC in any way, and its content does not amount to formal policy or doctrine, unless specifically indicated as such.
