Forty-eight doctors and nurses from Gaza recently joined ICRC’s Emergency Room Trauma Course. This course was launched at the Shifa, Nasser, and European Gaza hospitals in May 2014 and is part of a three-year program aiming to strengthen the skills of medical and nursing staff working in emergency departments. Participants will see their practical and theoretical knowledge further developed and it will give them a procedure to follow while treating trauma patients. Each training lasts 3 days under the lead of a doctor and a nurse coming from the ICRC HQ with a broad experience in Emergency and Trauma work. After the training is over, practical sessions continue for the trained medical personnel in their respective hospitals under the supervision of the trainers.
