Last Spring the Dutch design conference What Design Can Do partnered with UNHCR and the IKEA Foundation to launch a competition aiming to better the environments of refugees – the Refugee Challenge.
Out of 631 submissions from 70 countries, 5 ideas were selected in July, which entered the Accelerator phase – AGRIShelter, Eat&Meat, Makers Unite, Reframe Refugees and The Welcome Card. On 7 March in Amsterdam, the five teams will present their business cases to a panel of experts.
