Defining and testing new partnerships paradigms

Historically, ICRC has taken a conservative approach to partnerships with the private sector. This is party attributable to the specificities of its mandate, which imposes some constraints on the types of partnerships it can establish. That being said, even within these boundaries there exists a wide array of options that have yet to be tested or pursued by the institution. This is notably the case in the area of partnerships with the private sector where a focus on the creation of shared value with corporate partners opens new avenues for collaboration. A key objective of the GPHI2 is to broaden the conventional notion of partnership and explore new forms of potential collaboration with partners from the private sector and beyond. One of the areas in which ICRC is keen on testing new types of partnerships is in the realm of Physical Rehabilitation
